Confirmed clues (spoiler-light)

Layer 4 sediment occasionally yields "??? fragments" (weight 0.1, no recipe accepts them yet).
Carrying 5+ fragments makes the research screen flicker. A new node — "??? Interface" — appears in T5.[? Needs verification]
A sealed door at ~860m, grid region E2. Carved, not natural. Three socket-shaped holes.
